A Story of Reconciliation by Margaret Hague

My Chaplain’s Assistant Sarah (not her real name) in Lord’s Hill had been visiting a lady who was lonely and had lost touch with some of her family. Over some visits she was able to share more about her life and past experiences.

Sarah encouraged her to reach out to her family, and one day, helped her write a letter to her estranged sister saying she would like to meet up. A short time passed, and a reply came back. A date was arranged for a few weeks later and the two sisters met up for the first time in many years. They didn’t talk for long but the lady went home from their meeting so very happy.

As she left she had said to her sister “I love you” and that night she was able to fall asleep not crying as she usually did.
