Before Christmas, our team took delivery of a lovely parcel from a lady called Fiona Gravill. Inside was a treasure trove of exquisitely handmade, beautiful, quilted lap blankets! Imagine our delight as we looked through the pile! Fiona had heard of the work Caraway does and wanted to bless some of the older people we work with. These 5 blankets were duly handed to some of our older people and their reactions were simply wonderful.
Pearl was thoroughly delighted to be presented with such a beautiful gift. She said ‘what a lovely thing – that someone unknown to me is thinking of me and praying for me – I feel very loved.’ She was particularly taken with the little embroidered label sewn into the corner that reads ‘Handsewn for you to share Jesus’ Love’.
Ruth received a blanket with a mixture of pretty floral blues through it and was overwhelmed that she had been thought of. She declared ‘It’s like Christmas has come early! I don’t deserve this – I feel so spoilt!’ (Of course she is an absolutely wonderful lady who very much does deserve it!)
We are so thankful to Fiona for her faithfulness and kindness – allowing us to share Jesus’ love in this way with our older people. What a blessing these blankets are – especially now it has turned rather chilly!
