Our Maybush group recently enjoyed a truly special afternoon with historian Andy Skinner, whose passion and enthusiasm really brought history to life.
With a fascinating collection of artefacts, memorabilia, and even different hats for our guests to try on, Andy sparked conversations and memories among our guests – many of whom recalled with fondness their younger years in Southampton. The session was interactive and engaging, with guests sharing stories about the city’s past, from old shops to wartime experiences.
Andy’s warmth and knowledge made everyone feel included, whether they live with memory challenges or not, and his ability to connect with the group was remarkable. It was a joyful and nostalgic afternoon, filled with laughter, reminiscing, and a lovely sense of community.
A huge thank you to Andy for his time, energy, and dedication – it’s clear he loves what he does, and we certainly loved having him visit!
