Anna Friends are volunteers who work alongside an Anna Chaplain, extending their reach and helping to support more older people in meaningful ways. On Saturday, March 8th, we hosted an Anna Friend Training Day – a special opportunity for those considering this rewarding role.
Held in the warm and welcoming home of the Salvation Army, West End, the day provided a space for sharing, learning, and reflection. We explored key themes such as Ageing Well, Living with Dementia, Offering Spiritual Care, and Skills for Volunteering with Elderly People through stories, quizzes, discussions, and personal reflection. And, of course, delicious refreshments kept everyone going!
The event was beautifully organised by Anna Chaplain, Carol Kidd, alongside many of our amazing Anna Chaplains and with the support of Caraway. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to such a wonderful day.
